5 African companies are selected for a global social impact program.
10 businesses—five of them from Africa—have been chosen to participate in Startup Boost, an international initiative for social impact entrepreneurs managed by the tech consulting firm tretton37, based in Sweden.
Tech consultancy firm tretton37 works with Telia, Klarna, Paradox Interactive, Tibber, and ICA, among others. Launched in late 2023, Startup Boost provides free assistance to entrepreneurs seeking to change the world and leave their mark.
Ten candidates were chosen for the program out of nearly fifty, five of whom were from Africa. Digital goods marketplace Ahiyoyo and farm produce platform Aliments are two of those from Benin; the others are the self-publishing platform Iko Africa from Nigeria, the find-a-therapist service Iguru Therapies in Uganda, and the legal-tech platform Zupoto.
Startups from Slovenia, Sweden, Macedonia, and the United Arab Emirates make up the remainder of the cohort.
Based on their individual needs, the chosen firms will receive free assistance in areas like design, strategy, and programming.
“Learning about these creative startups and reading about them is both exciting and humbling. Many of these concepts have the power to alter lives; some even have the capacity to save lives. CEO of tretton37 Deniz Yildirim stated, “We’re thrilled to support the ten selected startups and together make a positive impact in the world.”
