Rwandan Startups can now Apply for Insurtech Incubator
Rwandan startups are encouraged to submit applications for the ZEP-RE InsurTech Program, which will aid scalable startups in expanding their market reach and increasing productivity.
Next month, 25 businesses will be chosen for an insurtech hackathon, which will be hosted by the PTA Reinsurance Company (ZEP-RE) in collaboration with Westerwelle Startup Haus. Five teams will then be chosen to participate in a six-month incubation program.
At the conclusion of the program, three out of the five teams will earn cash awards totaling up to $15,000 USD, and the ZEP-RE investment team will assess all firms for potential seed investment and additional help to scale in the COMESA area.
Additional advantages include having access to mentors and experts in the field, networking opportunities with possible investors, partners, and business clients, free office space, tools to assist businesses grow, and the chance to expand into the emerging and undeveloped insurtech sector.
Startups should have a diversified team with experience in their respective fields, as well as a desire and willingness to pivot to the insurance sector and an existing product or service that may be used in the sector. Startups in the areas of finance, agritech, e-health, legal tech, climate tech, and blockchain-enabled solutions are of particular interest to the program.
