Africa’s Debut Decentralised Organisation for Tech Founders, Pando DAO goes Live
Pando DAO, Africa’s first decentralized autonomous organization for tech innovators, has begun operations and has been named the Silicon Zanzibar initiative’s official community partner.
Top African internet entrepreneurs have formed the decentralized Pando DAO community, which has operations in over 15 different African nations. Its goal is to strengthen ties among members of the African IT community while accelerating scale and effect in order to realize a shared, positive future for the entire continent.
Founding members of the community represent over 50 founders and early builders from across Africa, including mPharma, Wasoko, Pariti, SunCulture, Africa Health Holdings, Stitch, MarketForce, 54Gene, Mara, VertoFX, Turaco, Raise, Carry1st, Jetstream and more.
The neighborhood has also declared its participation in Silicon Zanzibar, a government program started earlier this year with the aim of transforming the island into a destination for tech talent and businesses.
One such undertaking is a VC fund for African early-stage internet startups that will use the knowledge and connections of its participants to raise money and return it to them. Two further early projects will begin later this year: a hub accessible only to Pando DAO members, and a Pando CEO Summit.
“We are overjoyed to be working with the Zanzibari administration on this endeavor. According to Yacob Berhane, CEO and co-founder of Pariti and a founding member of Pando DAO, “We believe that through this partnership, we will be able to drive the tech ecosystem in Africa forward, with Zanzibar serving as a key part of that story by attracting tech companies and talent, as well as developing homegrown companies and talent as well.”
