Binance Partners With Utiva to Offer 1000 African Youth Scholarship for Tech Skill Training
The charity arm of cryptocurrency and blockchain infrastructure provider Binance, Binance Charity, has teamed with Utiva, an organization that provides technical education for young people in Africa.
Through the new cooperation, 50,000 young people will receive technology education, and 1,000 Africans will receive scholarships for a one-year intensive skill training program.
This educational program will target young Africans from 19 different nations between the ages of 18 and 35 and give them a platform to master technological skills over the course of a year. Over the course of the next 12 months, this project will consist of virtual classes where students can learn tech skills and obtain online mentoring.
“We think that everyone should have access to Web3’s many advantages and prospects. To do this, tech education and professional training must advance. In order to engage youngsters across Africa and promote the continent’s upcoming generation of industry shapers, we are pleased to work with Utiva. Helen Hai, the director of Binance Charity, said.
A total of 1000 young people will receive the Binance Charity Scholarship as part of the project, enabling them to study at Utiva and receive training in any of the best technological talents.
Through skill development and access to a wide range of job possibilities in the technology and Web3 sectors, the cooperation intends to pave the way for the continent’s economic progress.
On Thursday, October 20, 2022, the workshop was officially launched at the Utiva headquarters in Lagos, Nigeria, and it was attended by roughly 50 young people who will be among the first group of individuals to get fully-funded training and sponsorship.
“Africans are intelligent and dedicated, but frequently, the lack of money can be a significant barrier to achieving a noble aim like entering the technology sector. Eyitayo Ogunmola, CEO of Utiva, stated, “We are extremely happy that Binance Charity recognizes the African pain point and has joined with us at Utiva to help thousands of Africans and break the barrier to entry for many.
Students participated in a 4-hour training on Blockchain Technology and Software Development at the launch event. The 12-month commitment to the educational program officially starts today.
The larger Binance Scholar Program, which was started earlier this year and currently has active initiatives in the Ukraine, South Africa, France, and Brazil, includes this effort. The project makes it possible for the upcoming generation of digital leaders to gain knowledge, experience, and skills without facing any financial constraints.
