APPLY: €60,000 up for grabs at Tony Elumelu Foundation programme for women entrepreneurs

Implemented by the Tony Elumelu Foundation, the Women Entrepreneurship for Africa (WE4A) programme is set to improve the business capacity of women-led enterprises, increasing scaling changes globally.
The programme is organised by a joint effort from the European Union (EU), the Organisation of African, Caribbean and Pacific States (OACPS) and the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), and is executed by the Tony Elumelu Foundation (TEF), and the German Development Agency GIZ (E4D programme).
With a goal to empower women, youths, and the informal sector in underserved communities across Sub-Saharan Africa, the programme will also receive support from the SAFEEM (Swiss Association for Entrepreneurship in Emerging Markets), improving the business capacity of women-led enterprises and increasing their chances of raising follow-on funding from private sector investors.
The overall mission of the programme is to provide employment in communities through enhanced business capacities, access to formal financial services, and integration into local and regional value chains.

Eligibility
Open to female entrepreneurs from the TEF Alumni network, both startups leveraging technology and those not leveraging technology, from across all business sectors, are eligible to apply for the programme.
The three months virtual accelerator programme will be followed by a growth programme and technical assistance for an additional three months. Made up of two startup cohorts consisting of 60 startups each, the programme includes workshop/training sessions, one-on-one mentorship sessions, EIR Peer-to-Peer learning sessions, networking and expert/fireside chat sessions.
A Demo Day where startups will pitch business ideas to stakeholders, partners, mentors, donors and investors will follow.
