A communications-focused accelerator program, Accelerate with Djembe helps scale-ups in Africa and the Middle East attract capital by giving them access to consulting services and communications intelligence.
Ten scale-ups from a variety of industries, including manufacturing, transportation, energy, education, healthcare, and environmental services, have been chosen to participate following a screening process headed by Djembe CEO Mitchell Prather.
Three of the businesses—Baobab Circle, Bevis Africa, and Mzuri Organics—are based in Kenya. Each of Ghana (SolarTaxi and Stemaide Africa) and Nigeria (Cabax Farms and Lustre Plastics) has two representatives.
Egypt’s Saving System, the DUS Sustainability Research Center from the United Arab Emirates (UAE), and YY ReGen from Lebanon round out the group.
These businesses will take part in Djembe’s comprehensive communications training program, which focuses on partnership development, investor relations, digital marketing, message, branding, crisis communications, and other crucial communication disciplines. In addition, the first cohort group will receive extra outside industry expertise to help them develop further and become an investment-ready, compelling growth narrative.

The MEA region has proven once again that it has the potential to lead the next global revolution through innovation, and we remain committed to playing a pivotal role in providing MEA innovators with much-needed support. Accelerate with Djembe is designed with storytelling at its core, and we are excitingly looking forward to further developing and promoting the stories of these amazing scale-ups to potential funders and investors,” said Prather.
