Zinox Group Launches N10bn Tech Scholarship for 1,000 Students in Nigeria
A N10 billion scholarship program has been announced by Zinox Group with the goal of funding 1,000 underprivileged Nigerian students to pursue computer science degrees at federal universities throughout the nation.
The project, which will be carried out by the Leo Stan Ekeh Foundation (LSEF), is a component of the celebrations for the 70th birthday of Leo Stan Ekeh, the chairman of the group.
The corporation claims that the scholarship program’s goal is to produce a new generation of highly qualified tech workers who can promote innovation, bolster Nigeria’s digital independence, and foster economic expansion. Ekeh decided to invest in creating top-notch tech human capital instead of throwing a grandiose birthday party.
It is anticipated that the recipients, who will not be bound, will receive comprehensive development that goes beyond technical education in order to position them as leaders in global technology. With an emphasis on pupils from low-income homes, especially those whose parents make less than Government Level 10 and its private sector equivalent, selection will be carried out nationally based on age requirements and minimal Intelligence Quotient standards.
Ekeh revealed that starting in their first year of study, each scholar will be paired with a technological mentor. Additionally, he disclosed intentions to work with the Computer Society of Nigeria to offer expert guidance and mentorship during the program.
According to him, the project is an expression of gratitude to Nigeria as well as to the people and business partners—including TD Africa, Zinox Technologies, and Konga—who have helped the Zinox technology ecosystem flourish over the previous forty years.
The scholarship program demonstrates Zinox Group’s wider dedication to long-term investment in Nigeria’s knowledge economy and technology-driven development.
