WhatsApp Now Allow Desktop Users to Test Ability to Pause While Recording Voice Messages
On the desktop version of the program, WhatsApp is working on a feature that will allow users to pause and resume voice recordings.
The ability to evaluate voice notes before transmitting them was recently added to the instant messaging service. WhatsApp Desktop’s latest beta version is currently testing the ability to pause and resume voice recordings while they are being played in a chat.
The functionality is currently accessible on WhatsApp for iOS, but it has yet to appear on the Android version of the program.
WhatsApp feature tracker WABetaInfo discovered a new stop button in the newest beta version of WhatsApp Desktop. Users who have recorded a voice note can pause and resume playing while reviewing their recording using the pause-and-resume option. Users will then have the option of discarding the recording or continuing to record. The pause button has replaced the former stop button, which means the user must listen to the complete voice recording from start to finish.
According to WABetaInfo, based on user reports of the functionality rolling out on the latest beta version, the feature is presently being tested on WhatsApp Desktop beta 2.2201.2. The pause button looks to be functional, but the feature tracker cautions that it may take some time for beta tester accounts to be enabled.
WhatsApp for iOS previously offered the ability to halt voice notes after recording them in beta version 2.21.230.16 in October 2021, whereas the Meta-owned messaging service has yet to add the capability to the WhatsApp beta for Android smartphones.
