WhatsApp is Developing a ‘Community Home’ Feature for Android Users
WhatsApp is rumored to be working on a new area called “Community Home,” which will list all groups associated with a specific community and assist users in managing their groups.
The modification has not yet been made public. It has, however, been recommended via a new WhatsApp for Android beta version.
For the last few months, WhatsApp Community has been one of the instant messaging app’s continuous innovations. The functionality may provide users a new method to organize their WhatsApp groups under one roof.
According to WhatsApp beta tracker WABetaInfo, WhatsApp for Android beta version 2.22.4.1 had references to the Community Home, which would be offered to users in a future update.
According to a screenshot of the new feature, WhatsApp will use Community Home as an area where multiple groups within one WhatsApp community would be available.
Users would be able to administer their groups via Community Home. As seen in the screenshot, there will also be a feature to edit a specific community from the section.
The exact nature of WhatsApp’s use of the Community Home feature has yet to be revealed. According to WABetaInfo, the functionality is currently in development and will be accessible in the future WhatsApp beta update for both Android and iOS.
In November, WhatsApp was seen working on the new Community feature.
It is thought to be a new location where WhatsApp group admins will have more control over their groups.
The Community function, on the other hand, may not serve as a stand-alone venue for group conversations. This would be done in order to keep Groups and Community coexisting on the messaging app.
WhatsApp’s latest beta release also includes two new localizations. Amharic (an Afro-Asian language) and Somali are two of them (the official language of Somalia, Somaliland, and Ethiopia). With these two additional additions, Facebook parent company Meta’s app now supports more than 40 languages in total.
