WhatsApp introduces the emoji reactions feature to users worldwide
WhatsApp, the messaging app with over 3500 emojis, has introduced a new emoji ‘fast’ option. All users can benefit from this change, which allows them to respond to single messages with these new emojis. “Reactions on WhatsApp start today,” said Mark Zuckerberg, the Meta CEO, in a Facebook post.
He also mentioned the possibility of new reactions coming in under the same thread. Users previously had to input an emoji to respond to a message, but with new emoji refinement, users may respond instantaneously by simply touching on the single message they wish to respond to. Other social media networks, such as Instagram and Facebook, are comparable.
The purpose of an emoji reaction feature, according to Meta, is to allow users to express themselves immediately to an intended message without flooding the discussions.
Other WhatsApp in-app features
WhatsApp revealed last month that it is working on substantial updates, including emoji reaction functions. Other features in the app include:
Voice calling: WhatsApp has long offered an eight-person voice call capability, which has recently been enhanced with an audio waveform. In a single call, the new feature will allow up to 32 people to participate. Each participant’s icon has been reduced to fit within the audio waves.
Communities: This function combines group conversations and communities. People can communicate in distinct groups under one roof with a logical structure using this functionality. It’s similar to discussion groups within a larger group. Admins can delete and add members, just as in a typical group chat. New features include announcement messages, sharing files up to 2 GB, and making bigger voice conversations.
Group Poll: WhatsApp is currently working on a group poll option, just like any other poll. This feature is available on Twitter and LinkedIn, among other social media networks. Users may get people’s perspectives on a problem with this WhatsApp function, which is especially useful in group chats. WhatsApp thinks that by encrypting the questions and answers, users will be able to better understand one other in groups.
Status update: WhatsApp is developing a new feature called Status update, similar to Instagram. This enables status to display in a variety of places, including the main list and the search result list. When a user’s name is searched on the main page or in the search result list, their profile image reflects their current status when clicked on.
These in-app features are still under development by WhatsApp Beta Testing and the messaging platform hopes to roll them in as soon as possible
