Westerwelle Foundation will build a new startup hub in Arusha
The Westerwelle Foundation and Obuntu Hub have joined forces to build Arusha’s largest startup hub, with the ambitious goal of boosting Tanzanian entrepreneurship and the economy as a whole.
The Westerwelle Foundation is a non-profit organization based in Germany with the mission of empowering entrepreneurs in emerging markets. It already has hubs in Kigali and Tunis, as well as an online program that welcomes entrepreneurs from Asia, Latin America, and Africa.
Its new Arusha hub will open in the second quarter of this year, offering co-working spaces, events, expanded support programs, and access to service providers. The initiative’s driving partners, Westerwelle Foundation and Obuntu Hub, believe that supporting young entrepreneurs has the potential to have a positive economic impact through job creation and service provision.
“We have seen the positive impact of entrepreneurship not only in African economies, but all over the world.” “We want to help Tanzania realize its potential,” said Westerwelle Foundation managing director Oliver Reisner.
