Vetwork, Egyptian Petcare Provider Secures Bridge Round To Transform The Pet Care Industry
Vework, an Egypt-based petcare platform that connects pet parents with pet care service providers in a timely and convenient manner at home, has raised a bridge round with several Saudi Arabian investors and Alexandria Angel Network members, as well as receiving financial support from Nestlé Purina and conducting a POC (proof of concept) together. The total amount raised was not revealed.
Vetwork, created by Fady Azzouny and Adam Hafez, intends to address all of the pet owner’s demands and problems, including the fact that veterinarians operate without oversight, the inability to reach veterinarians at a convenient time, the lack of accurate vet ratings, and much more.
To address all of this, Vetwork offers a variety of services geared toward pet owners, including grooming services, online pet stores, veterinarians, dog walkers, dog trainers, and boarding facilities, all in one convenient location.
“We’re extremely happy of what we’ve achieved so far,” said Fady, Founder and CEO of Vetwork. “Who else has been pioneering in the PetCare market in MENA?” Many entrepreneurs seeking possibilities in our field have found their way to Vetwork! Now that we have strategies in place and resources in the form of an amazing team, funds, and relationships, the next chapter of Vetwork is tremendously exciting; stay tuned!”
Vetwork aims to disrupt the pet care market by bringing together over 400 pet care service providers and over 38,000 pets.
The pet care market in the Middle East and Africa is dominated by global corporations Mars Inc. and Nestle Purina, which together dominated the pet food market. With considerable presence in South Africa and other African countries, RCL Foods, Ball & Coalter Foods, K9 Pet Foods, Promeal (Pty) Ltd, and Supreme Petfoods Limited are all strong pet food firms in the region.
