Understanding the Evolution, the Future and Benefits of Cloud Computing.

As the IT spending of organizations has been estimated to be about 50% of their capital expenditure,which is huge, it  then becomes very important for businesses and organisations to understand the origin and evolution of Cloud Computing as it helps them appreciate the transformation  that several businesses are having as they  are adopting Cloud Computing.

Mr. Todd Thibodeaux, President and CEO, CompTIA in his presentation at the GITEX Cloud Conference in Dubai yesterday explained that the story around the origin of Cloud Computing is traceable to Amazon and the small team at Cape town in South Africa. He also pointed out that the launch of devices like IPhone and IPad really has helped in the easy adoption of Cloud Computing as huge data and information are shared in several formats today and with predictions that in 2014 about 185 billion mobile apps will be downloaded.

This shows that Cloud Computing has really transformed several sectors of businesses especially the banking sector, the Airlines,Government in different parts of the world are using Cloud Computing to become very effective. The use of Cloud Computing is commonly seen in the use of emails and also in storing data.

Experts have advised that the right model to use in cloud computing, having the right skills needed for the deployment of Cloud Computing, Retaining the right people in the team are first things on the mind of Cloud adoption.

It is important for Cloud services providers to understand that businesses who adopt cloud computing are looking for best place for cutting edge technologies, a secured environment, and services that can help them become more effective while they spend less money with limited Privacy issues. Organisations who use cloud computing also are looking for Cloud services that are enterprise ready.

Mr Jitendra Kapor of Etisalat in Dubai says that the growth and adoption of Cloud Computing has been largely driven by speed of deployment, flexibility in the options available, business efficiency and continuity. Businesses are advised that in adopting Cloud Computing it becomes very important for them to take mitigated and measured steps towards that.

In explaining what the future of Cloud Computing is, Mr Todd Thibodeaux was quick to mention that the future of Cloud Computing will be around Big Data. The aggregation and prediction of big data, Analyzing and Optimization of these data, pushing the data to points of interest are some of the future trends.
