Twitter users back Elon Musk’s CEO resignation
The majority of Twitter users who took part in Elon Musk’s poll to be fired as CEO of the microblogging network voted to have him fired.
Musk, the wealthy founder of Tesla Inc., started a poll on Sunday to decide if he should continue serving as CEO.
According to the poll’s results, which were finalized on Monday, 57.5% of the 17.5 million participants asked to leave.
Musk had earlier promised to follow the poll’s results when they are announced.
Should I resign as Twitter’s CEO? When he posted the poll, he asked Twitter users if they would follow the findings.
Musk agreed to buy Twitter for $44 billion in April 2022 after what has been called a contentious acquisition deal, making him CEO of the microblogging service.
The agreement stated that shareholders will receive $54.20 for each share of Twitter they own.
Following the transaction’s conclusion, Twitter also became a privately held corporation.
Less than a day after finalizing the platform’s acquisition, Musk fired Twitter’s three senior executives as the first of many radical policies he put in place as the company’s leader.

The billionaire then embarked on a big global layoff binge that included Twitter’s recently established Africa headquarters and resulted in the loss of 3,700 people.
Musk then changed course by enacting a verification process that requires users to spend at least $8 in order to receive the blue badge.
Despite the fact that the billionaire claimed he bought the social networking site to support free expression, Musk has faced harsh criticism ever since he took over the business.
