Top Media and Communication Expert -Uche Nworah becomes the MD/CEO of Anambra Broadcasting Service.
One of the sectors that has been so revolutionised by Technology is the Media. As the media play vital role in setting agenda for the development of any society, it becomes very pertinent that our people begin to realise the strategic role of the media especially in the economic empowerment of our people from the South Eastern part of the county. Our people over the years have continuously wallowed in obscurity, poverty and underdevelopment and have often become the ridicule of other ethnic groups. There is certainly no one to blame than us.
One of such neglects I see over the years is non- investment in media platforms be it Television, Radio, Print and the Internet. Such has continuously prompted a recent resolve I have made to support contributions towards the realisation of the economic potentials of the south eastern part of the country. This is beginning to have a positive look as we are drawn to appointments and election of leaders who are passionate about bringing development to the people. Apart from the present Governor of Imo State, Mr Rochas Okorocha who is driving good changes in Imo State, the election of the new Governor of Anambra state-Mr Willie Obiano is one of such following his passion and agenda for the people.
And so few days ago on Facebook I saw the several congratulatory messages following the appointment of Mr Uche Nworah as the Managing Director and the Chief Executive Officer at the Anambra Broadcasting Service,Anambra State.I have a good idea of some challenges that ABS, Awka have faced over these years and so for me the appointment of Mr Uche Nworah is a welcomed development. The fact that he is young, passionate for change and development of the people and has the wealth of experience to make the needed impact, is a plus.
