Titans of Tech Conference Nigeria Celebrates its 10th Edition July 29-31
The 10th edition of the prestigious *Titans of Tech *conference and exhibition is scheduled to hold July 29 -31, 2015 at the Oriental Hotel,Victoria Island, Lagos.
Speaking to newsmen in Lagos weekend, Don Pedro Aganbi, Managing Consultant, Technology Africa, noted that “in today’s modern society, information communication technology (ICT) continues to play an increasingly significant role in the development of any nation culturally, socially and economically”.
He revealed that in Nigeria with over $30 billion invested in the nation’s ICT sector there is an urgent need to assess and promote the impact of this pervasive sector.
According to him, “The theme of this year’s conference *“How ICT Powers Nigeria’s Economy”* was chosen specifically to highlight the fact that ICT has become a key driver of economic growth over the past decade.” He noted that the rapid diffusion of the Internet, of mobile telephony and of broadband networks all demonstrate just how pervasive ICT has become.
ICT, he argued continues to provide economic opportunities to both urban and rural populations. One common contribution is that it increases productivity and makes the market work more efficiently.
Aganbi posited that ICT is becoming the largest distribution platform of providing public and private services to millions of people in the country even in rural and poor areas. It makes available market information, financial services, education and health services that due to a lack of connectivity may largely have been unavailable in the immediate past.
He said that the *Titans of Tech 2015 *conference will go a long way not just to boost awareness of how ICT is changing the economic landscape but also the key players/operators making the investments that is precipitating this change. The conference will afford participating firms and individuals ample opportunities to reveal the extent of their investment in Nigeria and the highlight the urgent need to actively protect and indeed promote further investment.
