The Youth Enterprise with Innovation in Nigeria (YouWIN!) Entries Extended Till 25th Novemeber, 2011
You don’t have any reason not to be part of YouWin because Innovative young Nigerians will be supported with training in
Entrepreneurship and a total of 1200 existing and start-up businesses
will be given up to N10m grant(each) over the course of one year
as they meet target milestones.
The date for the submission of entries has been extended till 25th of November to accommodate all interested applicants.
The Youth Enterprise with Innovation in Nigeria -You WiN! Programme is a collaboration of the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of
Communication Technology (CT), and the Ministry of Youth Development with support from World Bank, and DFID that will launch an annual Business Plan Competition (BPC) for aspiring young entrepreneurs in Nigeria, in line with the Federal Government’s drive to create more jobs for Nigerians. The programme is being implemented in partnership with Nigeria’s private sector.
The Objective of the programme
The main objective of the Youth Enterprise with Innovation in Nigeria
(You WiN!) Programme is to generate jobs by encouraging and supporting aspiring entrepreneurial youth in Nigeria to develop and execute business ideas that will lead to job creation. The programme will provide aspiring youth with a platform to show case their business
acumen, skills and aspirations to business leaders, investors and
mentors in Nigeria.
Who Can Apply?
The applicant should be a proven citizen of Nigeria, not older than 40 years. The applicant is proposing a business venture within the national borders of Nigeria, and with the intention of employing Nigerian citizens.
The promoter should be willing to make an equity contribution in kind,
but does not need to have long experience in managing a business
The applicant must choose to participate in one award pool. There are
6 regional pools on the basis of geo political zone as identified by
market in which the applicant wishes to do business.
Timelines for the Competition
1. First round business concept submission closes on Friday November
25, 2011. No entries will be accepted after that date.
2. Notification of second round candidates and invitation for zonal
training will occur on a rolling basis as entries are received and
evaluated. Training for the first batch of second round will take
place between Sunday November 27 and Saturday, December 10, 2011.
3. Submission of second round business plan entries closes on Saturday January 7, 2012.
4. Notification of winners will be completed by Tuesday, January 24, 2012
