The Airbnb Community Fund donates $150k to the African hub network AfriLabs.

Pan-African network of innovation and technology centers AfriLabs has earned a US$150,000 investment from the Airbnb Community Fund.
AfriLabs is a network organisation that is committed to encouraging innovation and entrepreneurship on the continent by bringing together technology hubs, startups, investors, and other key stakeholders in the ecosystem. There are almost 500 members.
In contrast, the Airbnb Community Fund was established in 2020 with the goal of contributing $100 million by the end of 2030 to support local communities worldwide. In order to find and promote causes that are having an impact in fields including environmental sustainability, economic empowerment, mental health, and putting an end to abuse and exploitation, it collaborates closely with stakeholders, including Airbnb hosts.
The Airbnb Community Fund’s unrestricted US$150,000 donation gives AfriLabs the freedom to direct resources where they are most needed, guaranteeing the organization’s capacity to continue adapting to new challenges, encouraging teamwork, and growing its programs to assist more than 500 innovation hubs and thousands of entrepreneurs in 53 African nations.
“The strength of teamwork and a common goal is demonstrated by this kind donation from the Airbnb Community Fund. We can strengthen our efforts to assist innovation hubs that foster entrepreneurs, expedite solutions to urgent problems, and create long-lasting effects on communities with the help of this grant. We are working together to create a creative and inclusive future for Africa,” stated Anna Ekeledo, AfriLabs executive director.
