Techeconomy Launches GrowthX Conference, TiLAwards to Mark 9th Anniversary
…‘GrowthX by Techeconomy’ to Bring Nigeria’s Digital Economy Leaders Together for First Conference, Gala Night
Techeconomy, a leading digital media platform covering technology, business and the digital economy, has announced the launch of GrowthX by Techeconomy and the Technology Innovation and Leadership Awards (TiLAwards), a conference and gala night bringing together leaders from Nigeria’s technology, telecommunications, financial services, payments and digital infrastructure sectors.
The first edition of the event will take place on Thursday, September 24, 2026, at The Civic Centre, Ozumba Mbadiwe, Victoria Island, Lagos, starting at 9:00am (morning session) and 4:00pm (TiLAwards).
With the theme, “Driving Digital Growth Through Innovation and Collaboration,” GrowthX will focus on the issues affecting Nigeria’s digital economy and the partnerships needed to turn industry opportunities into practical growth.
The event comes at a time when changes in Nigeria’s financial and digital infrastructure are creating new demands for businesses, regulators and technology providers.
GrowthX will focus on some of the issues at the centre of these changes, including digital infrastructure, technology policy, investment and the development of a stronger digital economy.
The conference will bring together policymakers, regulators, business executives, investors and technology innovators to discuss the opportunities and challenges facing the sector.
It will also provide a space for stakeholders to share ideas, examine industry concerns and discuss effective ways to support digital growth.
The conference also comes as Techeconomy marks nine years of covering Nigeria’s technology, business and digital economy story.
The anniversary gives the platform an opportunity to bring together some of the leaders in the industry, regulators, innovators and businesses it has worked with over the years, while creating room for new conversations about the future of Nigeria’s digital economy.
One of the issues to be discussed is the Central Bank of Nigeria’s directive requiring payment operators to store and manage payment transaction data generated within Nigeria on local servers, with full compliance expected from January 1, 2027.
The directive has raised important questions across the payments and technology industries. These include local data centre capacity, cybersecurity, technical expertise, data protection and the ability of service providers to maintain operations during the transition.
GrowthX will provide an opportunity for stakeholders across these sectors to discuss the issues and consider what businesses, regulators and technology providers need to do as the industry prepares for the new requirements.
Regulators, financial institutions, payment companies, telecommunications firms, data centre operators, cloud service providers, cybersecurity companies and other technology businesses are expected to attend.
The conference will feature two keynote speakers, a lead presentation, two panel sessions and a fireside chat. An exhibition will also give participating companies an opportunity to showcase their products, services and technology solutions.
The programme will close with the Technology Innovation and Leadership Awards (TiLAwards) and gala night, recognising organisations and individuals contributing to the growth of Nigeria’s digital economy.
“For us at Techeconomy, GrowthX is intended to be more than a one-day industry gathering. We want the platform to bring the right people into the same room, encourage useful conversations and create opportunities for collaboration across sectors,” Peter Oluka, publisher/editor-in-chief at Techeconomy said.
The event will also give participants an opportunity to engage directly with leaders from across the industry on the policies, infrastructure and technologies influencing the next stage of Nigeria’s digital economy.
GrowthX by Techeconomy is organised as part of the Techeconomy Business Series, the strategic thought-leadership arm of Techeconomy.
