Spotify Unveils Talks Africa
Spotify has started an initiative that it claims would encourage “solution-driven” conversation about the issues the African music business is facing.
The session, dubbed Spotify Talks Africa, will include experts chosen from across the industry, according to the streamer.
It is thought that the effort would involve artists, producers, artist management, and staff members from Spotify Sub-Saharan Africa who will offer insight on the function of streaming in the industry.
According to Spotify, a number of reasons, such as partnerships with national and international musicians, music streaming, and social media, have contributed to the rapid growth of the African music industry in recent years.
“However, only a small percentage of artists are benefiting from this success, and many gifted writers still find it difficult to make it.
“For this reason, Spotify created Spotify Talks Africa, a video series that hosts discussions between key figures in the continent’s music industry.
How music streaming services like Spotify can support this expansion is crucial to understanding this.
According to Spotify, the forum, which will be presented as a video series, will focus on particular business issues and be released every three months.
This would cover the lived experiences of women in music as well as how streaming is preserving legacy acts.
