Snapchat Introduces ‘My AI,’ a ChatGPT-Powered Chatbot
Snap announced on Monday that it is testing a chatbot feature based on OpenAI’s GPT technology for some users of its photo messaging app Snapchat.
The My AI feature will use the most recent version of OpenAI’s GPT technology, which has been customized for Snapchat. The AI chatbot will first be available to Snapchat+ subscribers as an experiment this week. The social media platform has also asked users to provide feedback in order to improve the chatbot for future applications.
Snap announced the launch of its experimental AI chatbot, which uses the most recent version of OpenAI’s GPT technology, in an official blog post.
The chatbot, or My AI, will be available this week and will initially be limited to Snapchat+ subscribers. However, this feature may become available to all Snapchat users in the coming months. In its blog, the company has made no mention of such a development.
Snap has clarified that My AI may make mistakes in its early stages, but the company aims to avoid providing “biased, incorrect, harmful, or misleading information” through the chatbot. My AI, like other chatbots such as Microsoft’s ChatGPT or Google Bard, can be duped into revealing sensitive information.
