Report: Instagram is Experimenting With how to Turn Video Posts Into Reels
Instagram is now testing a feature that will reel in video posts.
The shift is reportedly being tested with a small group of users globally as part of Instagram’s strategy to streamline the videos available on the app, according to the Meta-owned social networking company.
A social media expert also posted an image of the test participants’ popup from the app telling them that the video postings will now be shared as Instagram Reels on Twitter.

One can infer that those taking part in Instagram’s global test will see this pop-up notice. If your account is public and you share a video, the prompt states that other users will be able to use the audio from the video to make their own Reels. The notice also states that anyone can now utilize the user’s Reel to make a remix and download it for their remake. However, users have a choice to turn off remixing from settings.
Instagram has not yet announced a release date for the new functionality that converts video posts into Instagram Reels for all users. The social networking site is also anticipated to announce soon what will happen to the existing video posts on the platform.
