President Goodluck Jonathan and His Book on Facebook
Reading about The President of Nigeria,Dr Goodluck Ebele Jonathan writing a book about his interactions on Facebook, what quickly came to my mind was few years ago, when one of my mentors Chris uwaje, popularly known as the Oracle of IT in Nigeria wrote an article titled: Is your President Computer Literate? That article was really an eye opener for Presidents of countries, associations, companies especially in Africa at the time. In that article which generated a lot of feedbacks and controversy at the time emphasized the need for our Presidents to not only be computer literate but use new technologies.
Today, Dr Goodluck Ebele Jonathan (GEJ) is not only computer literate, he has gone ahead to use social media platforms especially Facebook to interact with Nigerians especially the Youths, He has compiled his interactions with Nigerians on his Facebook page in a book billed for Public presentation on 20th December.
Here are his words on it:
“In pursuance of my desire to encourage a reading culture in Nigeria which I have been committed to from my days as an active academic, I, Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, will be presenting a book of my Facebook interactions with Nigerians to the public. A few Nigerians who have also distinguished themselves in the literary field will also be on hand to perform public readings. My guest and I will also take and answer a limited number of questions.
I want Nigerians reading again because when they read they know and it is not possible to mislead a people who know. So if you are in Lagos, Kaduna, Enugu or Port Harcourt and are free to spend a few hours talking about books and the social media, please join me and my guests on the 20th of December for the book presentation and reading.

I will be on ground at the event in Lagos and will be connected to the designated venues in Kaduna, Enugu and Port Harcourt via dedicated viewing centers.
