MTN Supports National Software Conference
MTN Nigeria has added another feather to its first-class profile on attributes of excellent vision and performance, by being the first Mobile Telecommunications Network Solutions Provider to recognize the importance of the nation’s Software project, through her endorsement of the first National Software Conference and Software Competition in Nigerian Universities.
The event which is scheduled to hold between Thursday 27th and Friday 28th of October at the Tinapa Resort has been tagged as a ‘breathtaking e-knowledge adventure’ and first of its kind in the West Africa sub Region. The Conference is organized by the Institute of Software Practitioners of Nigeria (ISPON) in collaboration with Cross River State and the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA).
In recognition of the current and future potentials of Software and Content Solutions marker in Nigeria and acknowledgement of the capability of ISPON and the Software Developer Community to contribute to the emerging global New Information Society Economy, MTN Nigeria has deployed her brand and resources in support of the conference. It will be recall that the Federal Government through NITDA has setup a 22-man Committee to Draft a National Software Strategy and Policy Roadmap, based on the advocacy and concerted effort of ISPON, on the strategic imperatives of Software to sustainable National development and Security.
Not only that, MTN has played a great role in the deliverance of Corporate Governance to promote the emerging knowledge Economy and Information Society in Nigeria, Africa and the world at large. With this endorsement, ISPON has truly emerged as the core professional, industry advocate and great champion in the national and West-African Software Domain.
