Meet our Keynote Speakers:

Professor Kingsley Moghalu  is a global leader who has made contributions to the stability, progress and wealth of nations, societies and individuals across such domains as academia, economic policy, banking and finance, entrepreneurship, law, and diplomacy. As Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria from 2009-2014 he led the execution of extensive reforms in the Nigerian banking system after the global financial crisis. He was a member of the Bank’s Monetary Policy Committee that brought inflation down into single digits.

As Professor of International Business and Public Policy at The Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University in Massachusetts, USA he has taught, trained and inspired graduate students from more than 40 countries in North America, Europe, Africa and Asia, men and women who will go on to leadership roles in their countries in careers from business to government service, from non-profits to military intelligence.

Kingsley served as the Chairman of the Boards of Directors of the Nigerian-Export-Import Bank (NEXIM) and the Financial Institutions Training Center. He was also a Member of the Boards of Directors of the Central Bank of Nigeria, the Securities and Exchange Commission of Nigeria, the Asset Management Corporation of Nigeria, and the global Alliance for Financial Inclusion (AFI).

He is the Founder & CEO of Sogato Strategies LLC, a global strategy, risk and macroeconomic advisory firm that has helped multinational corporations, global banks, private equity and asset management corporations make successful investments in emerging market countries.

Kingsley previously worked for the United Nations for 17 years, leading successful work in national reconciliation and nation-building in fractured societies, risk management and management reform in the UN, and raising billions of dollars for social investments in developing countries by The Global Fund to Fight AIDS, TB and Malaria in Geneva.

A visionary thinker and thought leader, he is the author of several books, an international keynote speaker at industry conferences, and a frequent commentator in the global media including CNN, BBC World TV, Bloomberg, and the Financial Times.

A philanthropist, Kingsley founded the Isaac Moghalu Foundation, a non-profit organization that provides support for literacy, educational institutions, and access to education for underprivileged children in rural communities in Nigeria.

Kingsley was educated at the London School of Economics and Political Science (Ph.D., M.Phil.), The Fletcher School at Tufts University (M.A.), University of Nigeria, Nsukka (LL.B.), and the Institute of Risk Management in London, UK. He has completed executive leadership programs in economic transformation, macroeconomic management, global leadership, corporate governance, and strategy at Harvard Kennedy School, Harvard Business School, Wharton, Chicago Booth School of Business, and the International Monetary Fund Institute.

 

Davis Cook,is the CEO Research Institute for Innovation and Sustainability(RIIS),South Africa.Davis has a standard life history on LinkedIn, but that doesn’t say who he is. So instead, this is what matters to him – making choices (and sometimes mistakes) about how to create a better world through innovation,through solving problems that face people, humans, across his home and beyond.What is important is whether or not we choose – every day – to act in away that makes the future just a little better; better for ourselves, our families, our planet. Muntaqa Umar-Sadiq MD,MPhil Currently the MD/CEO and founding board member of the Private Sector Health Alliance of Nigeria (PHN); a public private institution that mobilizes Nigeria’s private sector to complement government’s efforts in accelerating improvement in health outcomes by focusing on innovation, impact investments, advocacy and public- private partnerships to save at least one million lives
of women and children in Nigeria. The Private Sector Health Alliance was founded alongside private sector leaders in Nigeria including; Alhaji. Aliko Dangote (President, Dangote group), Mr. Jim Ovia(founder, Zenith bank, Visafone), Mr. Aigboje Aig Imoukhuede (founder, Access bank), Mrs. Sola David Borha (former CEO, Stanbic IBTC), Dr. Muhammad Ali Pate (former Minister of State for Health,Nigeria), Dr. Kelechi Ohiri and others – and promoted and launched by Mr. Bill Gates.
Prior to his appointment at the Alliance, Muntaqa was the Senior Technical Advisor to the former Minister of State for Health in Nigeria. In this position, he oversaw critical policy formulation/reviews and performance management projects in a number of parastatals and
departments in the Federal Ministry of Health (FMOH), National Health Insurance Scheme, etc.He co-authored the 2012 Drug Distribution Guidelines for the FMOH and led the Ministry’s efforts to streamline supply chain, logistics and drug distribution in Nigeria. He was part of the
team involved in creating an enabling environment for the private health sector and strengthening the regulatory role of government.
Muntaqa commenced his career as an investment banker at Morgan Stanley where he focused on the Healthcare & Pharmaceutical sector – and advised healthcare clients on a wide range of transactions. He is a graduate from the University of Cambridge, England, where he did an
M.Phil. in Bioscience Enterprise. He earned his medical degree at Imperial College School of Medicine, London, and holds a BSc in Management (Finance & Health Economics) from the Tanaka Business School, London.He was also the founder of AfyaZima Africa Limited (Elpida Cambridge Health), a healthcare consulting and medical device company. He is a CAIA (Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst) Charter holder and was named the 2016 World Economic Forum Young Global Leader.

Prof Bongo Adi,a Senior Lecturer at Lagos Business School.Prior to his faculty appointment, Bongo Adi was CIPRA MTN Research Fellow at Lagos Business School where he facilitated classes in Public Private Partnerships (PPPs), project finance and development. He led various collaborations on research, case studies and stakeholder engagement with various government agencies including ICRC, NERC and several ministries involved in PPPs.
He has over 15 years experience in teaching, policy research, and consulting. As an assistant professor, he has lectured at the University of Tsukuba, Japan, where he was a JSPS fellow, and at the American University of Nigeria. He has received several international awards including the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS) award. He is a UNU Fellow and a World Bank scholar. Adi has consulted for the World Bank, UNCTAD, JIRCAS, JICA and UNU. He is widely published and his current research interests include electricity market design, private public partnerships, and political economy of mega projects. He holds an MA and a PhD in development economics from the prestigious University of Tsukuba, Japan. He undertook post doctoral training at the Data Mining Team of the National Agricultural Research Centre, Tsukuba, Japan where he developed routines for forecasting rice yields from paddies using remote sensing data from the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA).
