John Pinette, Facebook Parent Meta’s Head of Communications Leaves Company
John Pinette, the head of communications at Facebook parent Meta Platforms, is leaving the company, the social media company announced late Friday.
A Meta spokesperson told Reuters in an emailed statement that Chris Norton, vice president of international communications, will fill the role on an interim basis.
“Meta has lost John Pinette. We are grateful for his positive contributions during a challenging and pivotal period in the company’s history, and we wish him well in the future “According to the statement.
The spokesperson refused to comment on Pinette’s departure, citing Meta’s policy of not commenting on personnel matters.
Pinette’s departure was first reported by the Wall Street Journal on Friday.
According to the company’s website, Pinette was appointed vice president of global communications in April 2019.
Pinette was the head of Asia Pacific communications for Google before joining the company. She previously led communications for Gates Ventures, Bill Gates’ private office and innovation lab. He also held a number of leadership positions in product and corporate communications at Microsoft.
