Huawei supports 3MTT and NATEP efforts and DigiTruck, Nigeria’s digital revolution.
Huawei Technologies has stated that it will support NATEP and Nigeria’s 3MTT program in achieving their goals for digital transformation. The company also claims that its DigiTruck project will boost the programs.
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu revealed this on Tuesday during his visit to Huawei Technologies’ Beijing Research Center. During his recent trip to China, he talked about important efforts meant to improve digital literacy and talent development in Nigeria.
Mr. Liang Hua, Chairman of Huawei’s Board of Directors, complimented President Tinubu for recognizing digital technology as a vital engine of economic growth during their discussion, saying,
We find this to be quite encouraging. In order to help Nigeria achieve its policy goals and advance its digital, intelligent, and low-carbon development, Huawei is ready to provide its ICT experience and establish itself as a dependable partner of the government.
In order to train 3 million technical talents (3MTT) and provide Nigeria’s youth with the skills required for both current and future economic prospects, the “DigiTruck initiative will complement Nigeria’s Ministry of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy,” he stated.
DigiTruck
Huawei Technologies introduced DigiTruck, a mobile ICT school program, to improve digital literacy and offer ICT training in underprivileged areas.
In order to reach places with limited access to technology and training possibilities, it functions as a mobile educational resource. The DigiTruck is furnished with cutting-edge technology, such as laptops, internet access, and instructional materials and resources catered to different learning requirements.
The program intends to train at least 3,000 students annually and will operate in ten states in Nigeria.
Support to NATEP
Huawei Nigeria’s CEO, Mr. Chris Lu, emphasized the company’s backing of the country’s National Talent Export Program (NATEP).
“In the future, we hope to continuously develop the Network Operations Center (NOC) and expand its capacity so that it can meet the requirements of more African markets, thus facilitating more Nigerian technology talents in serving more overseas’ markets and helping to achieve the goal of NATEP.” , He said
President Tinubu and his entourage learned about Huawei’s most recent advancements in solar power, smart grid technology, e-government, and smart education during their visit of the company’s research center.
Nigeria’s inclusive development strategy, digital governance, and public services might all be greatly improved by these technologies.
Furthermore, Huawei declared its intention to collaborate with Nigeria’s Rural Electrification Agency (REA) to create a PV test facility in order to further the nation’s low-carbon and digital development objectives.
