Google is Rewarding Employees This Year, Postpones Return-to-Office Plans
Alphabet’s Google announced on Wednesday that it will give an additional bonus to its employees worldwide this year, postponing its return-to-office plan.
A company spokesperson told Reuters that Google will give all employees, including the company’s extended workforce and interns, a one-time cash bonus of $1,600 or equivalent value in their country this month.
The new benefit is in addition to Google’s work-from-home allowance and wellbeing bonus, and is intended to help employees during the coronavirus pandemic, according to the spokesperson, who did not specify how much money the company has set aside in total for the purpose.
