Geidea, Egyptian Fintech Joins Forces With Visa to Fast-track Digital Payments Across Egypt
The world’s leading provider of digital payments, Visa, and Geidea, an Egyptian Fintech business, have announced a strategic agreement to offer Geidea’s cutting-edge payment solutions to the Egyptian market.
To provide smooth and secure payment options for merchants and SMEs across the nation, Visa will invest in enhancing existing payment solutions using Geidea’s Point-Of-Sale terminals.
According to Egypt’s Vision 2030, Ahmed Nader, General Manager of Geidea Egypt, “Geidea is committed to supporting merchants and assisting small businesses to prosper in the digital economy. By supplying businesses with cutting-edge digital payment solutions, our cooperation with Visa will hasten the country’s digital transformation and financial inclusion while enabling them to provide customers a simple, safe, and smooth checkout process.
In an effort to consolidate these services, which are crucial to the growth of Egypt’s payment sector, the two parties signed a long-term strategic partnership to offer innovative services to retailers and small and medium-sized businesses (SMEs) in Egypt, including pay by phone services and the electronic trading services.
Geidea Egypt’s Senior Commercial Director, Ahmed Magdy, stated that the company hopes to use the most recent e-payments technology to offer secure and convenient payment options through “Tap-on-Phone.” Geidea has a robust infrastructure that enables it to provide merchants and small and medium-sized businesses with the fastest PoSs.
“Our business is continually looking for partners who can help us advance our objective of giving users the best solutions and a seamless experience. Because of Visa’s broad network, which is a major differentiator in providing our clients with the greatest flexibility, we are happy to partner with them.
“Such strategic alliances help us advance the future of digital payments in the area, assuring smooth services to our clients and an improved market share for all parties involved,” said Essam El Daly, Head of Merchant Sales and Acquiring for North Africa, Levant, and Pakistan at Visa. As we carefully consider the needs of both merchants and users in our solutions, these enabling tools are essential to attaining the financial inclusion we aim through our work at Visa.
Founded in 2008, Geidea operates more than 700,000 payment terminals (PoS) across the region and with 150,000 trusted merchants including regional and international brands, SMEs and e-commerce players.
