Gebeya Partners with InterNetX to Bring Domain Access to Africa’s Digital Economy
Gebeya, Africa’s leading Agentic AI company, has announced a strategic partnership with InterNetX, a leading European domain registrar and part of the IONOS Group. The partnership will allow African entrepreneurs, freelancers, and small businesses to search, buy, and manage domains directly inside Gebeya’s platforms, and pay using local payment methods.
It sounds simple, but for millions of African users, it solves a real problem. Despite the rapid growth of Africa’s digital economy, domain ownership remains far lower than in global markets. The reason? Many entrepreneurs simply can’t purchase domains because of international credit card requirements and foreign currency restrictions. This partnership is designed to remove those barriers for good.
How the Integration Works
The partnership integrates InterNetX’s domain platform, AutoDNS, directly into Gebeya’s two core platforms: Jitume, the AI service marketplace, and Dala Studio, the AI creator platform.
Through a white-label integration, users will be able to search for domains, complete registration, and set up SSL — all within the Gebeya platform, in a matter of minutes, and without needing an international credit card or USD account.
Why This Matters for Africa’s Digital Economy
Gebeya has already onboarded more than 90,000 users across its platforms. And one piece of feedback kept coming up: people couldn’t buy professional domains. The combination of USD payment requirements and the need for an international credit card locked out a huge portion of users who were otherwise ready to build their online presence.
This partnership directly addresses that. African entrepreneurs will now be able to own their digital identity, a domain, a website, an SSL certificate, using the same mobile money and local payment methods they already use every day.
A Shared Vision for African Digital Sovereignty
“We are building the operating system for Africa’s service economy, and a professional web presence is fundamental to that vision,” said Amadou Daffe, CEO of Gebeya. “By partnering with InterNetX, we can offer our users seamless domain access without the friction of international payments. This is about enabling millions of African entrepreneurs to own their digital identity and compete globally.”
Elias Rendón Berger, CEO of InterNetX, echoed that vision: “Partnering with Gebeya allows InterNetX to support Africa’s next wave of digital entrepreneurs. By combining our infrastructure with Gebeya’s deep market understanding and local payment rails, we’re making it easier than ever for African businesses to establish a credible, secure online presence.”
What This Means for African Creators and Entrepreneurs
For the service professionals, digital creators, and small businesses already using Gebeya’s platforms, the integration delivers four key benefits:
- Domain ownership without a credit card — pay using mobile money or local payment methods
- No forex barriers — transact in local currencies without needing USD
- A complete professional presence — bundle domain, SSL, and website in one seamless flow
- African infrastructure — built on Gebeya’s commitment to sovereign, locally-hosted digital solutions
Building Toward a Million Users
The partnership also supports Gebeya’s broader growth target of reaching one million subscribers. As the platform continues to scale across the continent, giving users access to a full suite of professional digital tools, including domain registration is a critical piece of that puzzle.
For too long, something as basic as owning a domain has been out of reach for millions of African entrepreneurs. This partnership is a step toward changing that — and toward ensuring Africa’s growing digital economy is built on a foundation that its people actually own.
