Elon Musk Launches AI Chatbot ‘Grok’ to Rival ChatGPT
The first artificial intelligence model produced by xAI, a business founded by the proprietor of the microblogging site formerly known as Twitter, has been shown by Elon Musk.
The ‘Grok’ AI model is intended to rival products provided by OpenAI, Google, and Microsoft, the companies that created ChatGPT. Additionally, it will feature a satirical side that Musk frequently displays in his writings on X. According to the CEO of Tesla, the chatbot is now being tested by a small group of customers and will only be available to X Premium+ subscribers.
A “limited number of users” in the US will get access to the Grok prototype before a wider release, according to a blog post published by xAI on Sunday.
Users may sign up for a waitlist to test out the new Grok chatbot on the xAI website, and the business has also disclosed that it will support additional features and capabilities in the upcoming months. According to Musk, Grok will be accessible through X and a stand-alone app.

The AI startup has highlighted a few of the features of the Grok chatbot, such as its capacity to propose inquiries and retrieve real-time information from X. The business has cautioned, meanwhile, that Grok will respond with “a bit of wit” and has a “rebellious streak”. The chatbot was trained over the course of two months, according to the company.
Grok-1, xAI’s newest large language model (LLM), powers it. The business claims that although work began four months ago, the LLM has seen multiple iterations and can currently score 63.2 percent on the HumanEval coding task. Additionally, the company claims that it receives a score of 73 percent on the Massive Multitask Language Understanding (MMLU) dataset.
When Grok will be accessible to all users is unknown, although Musk stated via X that access will only be granted to subscribers who have paid for the service. X Premium+ members who pay $16 (about Rs. 1,300) a month will be able to utilize the chatbot through the microblogging platform when Grok is made available to the general public.
