ChatGPT: General Motors to Integrate AI Chatbot in Vehicles
According to a business executive who spoke to Reuters, General Motors is investigating uses for ChatGPT as part of its broader partnership with Microsoft.
According to GM Vice President Scott Miller, “ChatGPT is going to be in everything” in a recent interview.
According to Miller, the chatbot may be used to program features like a garage door code or integrate schedules from a calendar, as well as obtain information on how to use vehicle capabilities typically available in an owner’s handbook.
Customers can anticipate that their future vehicles will be significantly more capable and innovative overall when it comes to emerging technologies, according to a GM spokesperson on Friday. “This shift is not just about one single capability like the evolution of voice commands,” the spokesperson added.
Website Semafor broke the news first, claiming that the American manufacturer was developing ChatGPT’s virtual personal assistant using AI algorithms.
Microsoft stated earlier this year that it intended to incorporate the chatbot’s technology into all of its products as part of a multi-billion dollar investment in OpenAI, the owner of ChatGPT.
Like other major tech companies, Microsoft has been stepping up its attempts to integrate more technology into automobiles, including infotainment systems, autonomous driving, operating systems that regulate battery performance, and numerous other features.
Microsoft and GM teamed up in 2021 to hasten the commercialization of driverless cars.
On Friday, GM shares fell around 2% amid a larger decline.
