Cathedis, Moroccan Logistics Startup Secures $735,000 for Expansion
Cathedis, a logistics startup based in Morocco that specializes in delivery and e-logistics, has announced the completion of its pre-series.
Afrimobility raised $5 million, AKWA Group provided venture capital, and CDG Invest provided a bridge loan of $2 million, for a total of $735,940.
Cathedis’ platform, founded by Imad Mansour Zekri, provides cloud-based warehousing and delivery solutions to local e-commerce stores.
“Afrimobility was persuaded to invest in Cathedis and assist its expansion plan due to its great performance, Moroccan-made innovation, strong potential, and ambitious development strategy. “Our investment in this start-up is part of our vision and philosophy of supporting new and disruptive ventures capable of addressing the significant challenges of tomorrow’s mobility,” said Moulay Hafid Amrani, CEO of Afrimobility, in a press release.
This is the startup’s second round of funding since its inception in 2019, following MDH 1 million from CDG Invest’s 212 Founders program in 2020. The funding is a significant milestone for the startup, which has grown by more than 300% between 2020 and 2022 and has over 700 active clients.

“The renewed confidence of our investor and historical partner CDG Invest, as well as the entry of the prestigious fund Afrimobility, will allow Cathedis to consolidate its performance, develop its innovation platform, and accelerate its growth,” said Cathedis founder and CEO Imad El Mansour Zekri.
“Four years after its inception, our start-up is one of Morocco’s reference operators of delivery and e-logistics, with the deployment of entirely domestically conceived and installed technological and industrial solutions,” he said.
The Cathedis operations platform is completely digital. “It is more than just a platform; it is a tool for deep transformation of delivery management. Everything is trackable. The system provides a high level of agility to manage each operation, from delivery production to cash return, even on a daily basis, through complaint handling, and this with real-time, even near instantaneous monitoring. “The goal is to provide the best user experience possible,” the company stated.
Internal teams created and implemented the automated sorting center, which can process 4,000 parcels per hour. Moroccan R&D is used by the startup to achieve better results. The goal for 2024 is to handle 3 million shipments per year.
