Cairo-based Pharma Startup Grinta Acquires Auto-Cure

To increase its presence in the nation, Cairo-based startup Grinta, a fintech-enabled B2B digital platform that is digitizing the pharmaceutical supply chain, has acquired Alexandria’s online pharmacy Auto-Cure.

Grinta, a controlled marketplace founded in 2021 by Mohamed Azab, Yosra Badr, Ali Youssef, and Hamza Mohamed, modernizes the pharmaceutical supply chain by empowering independent pharmacies. The whole range of traceable pharmaceutical and medical products are accessible through the end-to-end platform, which also offers fulfillment, demand forecasting, and inventory finance.

To create a data-driven, dependable, and effective pharmaceutical supply chain, the organization is collaborating with all stakeholders along the value chain, including producers, distributors, wholesalers, and pharmacies.

Late last year, Grinta received a $8 million seed round and has since acquired Auto-Cure, an Alexandria-based B2B e-commerce platform for independent pharmacies.

According to Grinta CEO Mohamed Azab, “the acquisition of Auto-Cure is a testament to Grinta’s dedication to delivering value to their clients and expanding its presence in the Egyptian market.”

Since its founding in 2021, Grinta has purchased two additional businesses: the software development firm EME and the similar digital platform PH Store in northern Egypt. The company has subsequently aggressively expanded over nine governorates in Egypt. Since then, it has delivered more over 200,000 items and supplied over 7,000 pharmacies.

“We are thrilled to be working with Grinta; our dedication to digitising the market and ensuring customer happiness has inspired us to join Grinta’s fantastic team. Together, we will be expanding our reach not only in Alexandria but also across the Middle East and Africa, according to Mohamed Rezk, founder and CEO of Auto-Cure. “We have unlocked a world of possibilities,” he added.

Over the last 18 months, Auto-Cure has served 450 pharmacies and despatched 5,000 orders.
