Jide Awe is the Founder/CEO of Jidaw Systems Limited, a provider of IT education, consulting, and Internet content services. He is experienced in capacity development organization and highly skilled in IT Career Mentoring and Development. He established Jidaw Systems Limited (Jidaw) which has become an industry leader in ICT Education. He is a recognized Authority on Career Development, ICT policy formulation, human capital development and Web Content Provision. He developed and runs Jidaw.com, a globally acknowledged web based initiative focused on ICT for development (ICT4D). His articles and viewpoints have been expressed in a wide range of online, print and electronic media in Nigeria and internationally such as CIPSacrossCanada, Canadian Information Processing Society (CIPS), Zenith Bank Economic Quarterly, NESG Economic Indicators, Online Websites and major Nigerian Newspapers such as Business Times, Guardian, Punch, etc. He has been Contributing Editor of Computer.com, monthly Nigerian ICT Newsmagazine for several years. He is the author of several books and VCDs on Learning Computers, Professional Ethics, Internet Presence, IT Career, Job search, IT Entrepreneurship, and e-Business. He was the Private Sector Resource Person for Nigeria’s ICT For Development (ICT4D) Strategic Action Plan (2008 -2011) Committee. He is a Member, Science & Technology Policy Commission, Nigerian Economic Summit Group (NESG). He is one of the founding promoters of the African Information Security Association (AISA) and the African Children Cyber Safety Initiative (ACCSI). An alumnus of Loughborough University, he is a Fellow of the Nigeria Computer Society (FNCS) and a member of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE) and the Computer Professionals Registration Council (CPN). He has received several awards for his contributions in empowerment and the field of ICT. He is widely published and speaking regularly on a range of ICT policy development, and human capital issues. His passion is to ensure the use of ICT as a platform for development and empowerment with a focus on youth, career counseling, poverty eradication, education, job creation and entrepreneurship. He seeks to demystify and promote the field of ICT in all areas of life. He has been Resource person / Guest speaker at Nigeria Computer Society and National Association of Computer Science Students (NACOSS) workshops held in different parts of the country. He engages at educational institutions, youth clubs, social and faith based organizations, and has been speaker and member of discussion panels at several national and international ICT, human capital and education events.
