Application is now Open for the SAIS Investment Readiness Programme 2023

The German Development Agency (non-profit) Deutsche Gesellschaft für internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH has been working on the Scaling Agriculture Innovations via Start-ups (SAIS) initiative since 2019. It helps entrepreneurs become more investment-ready in the expanding African ecosystem.
It was jointly established by the Bayer Cares Foundation and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and works on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ). The objective is to help African companies expand so they can better the lives of their clients.
This is a chance for African entrepreneurs who are interested in getting their AgTech or FoodTech firm ready for investors. The SAIS Investment Readiness Programme 2023 provides services for the growth of your business valued up to $50,000.
Startups that meet the requirements to take part in the Investment Readiness Programme (IRP) of SAIS are given a number of advantages.
These include, among other things, (1) regular consultations and coaching sessions with specialists in the particular area where the startup needs assistance, (2) a choice to use coworking spaces, and (3) access to the extensive GIZ-SAIS network of investors, private sector participants, and partner organizations. (4) Local, national, or international meetups; (5) supplemental services for female entrepreneurs. In addition, there are additional services available for the program’s startups, depending on their individual need.
The SAIS-IRP focuses on firms that offer digital innovation and are aimed at the livestock, food, and agricultural markets. More than 51 African entrepreneurs have already received acceleration support since the SAIS-IRP launched in 2019.
SAIS has been developing, improving, and responding to the needs of its applications during this time as it has solidly established itself as a support for businesses in the AgTech and FoodTech industries. The startups at SAIS-IRP raised a total of $22.5M in funding during their participation. 90% of the businesses that have taken part in SAIS are still in business as a result of the intensive support provided during the program.
SAIS has been able to grow the program because to ongoing development and quick, constructive change. As a result, SAIS offers the IRP 2023 for speakers of English and French and has a dedicated track for companies in the livestock technology area.
