African Fintech Company, Kudi, Rebrands to Nomba
Kudi, an African payment network, has rebranded as Nomba. This was announced in a press release as part of the company’s transition from a single payment platform to an omnichannel payment platform.
Payment collections, trade finance, company reporting, and multiple location administration are among the new business capabilities produced by the new omni-channel payment platform, making enterprises easier.
This set of services will enable businesses of all sizes and locations across Africa with simple and easy-to-use tools to accept, process, and handle online and offline payments. They expect that by using these tools, African SMEs will get access to the digital economy.
In 2017, Nomba began as a chatbot with the primary goal of making payments easier. It grew into a firm in 2018 with the purpose to make digital payment options more accessible and simple.
It was named a YCombinator Top Company in 2022, and it now has over 150,000 businesses on its platform, with several transactional methods.
Nomba presently handles over $16 million in payments per day, with over 500,000 unique transactions and over 10,000 new businesses onboarded each month.
Since our launch in 2017, our technology and insights have enabled merchants to earn and build successful businesses, transforming their own lives and that of others. Today, complimentary regulatory frameworks and well thought-out partnerships with financial institutions have synergised to create an enabling environment for fintechs to chart the future of payments, making access to digital payment solutions ubiquitous. Over the next five years, we will be leveraging these factors, as well as the experience and expertise Jeff and Tolu bring to deepen the penetration of digital payment solutions across the country, making payments easier for everyone.

What to expect
Nomba, Kudi’s new identity, aims to introduce a whole new perspective to the digital realm of corporate payments. Its mission is to provide tools to over 350,000 Nigerian entrepreneurs to assist them to operate their brands more efficiently.
Businesses may self-onboard in five minutes and order a full-service integrated terminal and dashboard from Nomba, which allows them to manage all payment methods across many channels and locations.
For the next six months, Nomba’s mission is to penetrate POS terminals across the country, providing access to technology and a comprehensive overview of company transactions in a single dashboard. This will allow the company to expand its product offerings to include invoicing and payroll administration, allowing them to achieve its goal of increasing business productivity.
