Invitation to Apply: GIZ/Digital Transformation Center Support for Innovation Support Organizations through Capacity Building
An official call for applications from Innovation Support Organizations (ISOs) for a program aimed at supporting the digital transformation of non-tech Micro, Small, and Medium-Sized Enterprises (MSMEs) in four states of the country and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) has been announced by the Digital Transformation Centre Nigeria (DTC Nigeria), a capacity-building initiative jointly funded by the European Union and the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development.
The project aims to enhance the capabilities of specific ISOs from Abia, Kano, Lagos, Rivers, and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) to facilitate the digital transformation of non-tech MSMEs in their respective states or zones of operation. Benefiting states are regarded as centers of innovation, housing venture studios, incubators, accelerators, and projects having the potential to have a big influence on the MSMEs scene.
Many of the difficulties that non-tech MSMEs have can be lessened by digitally transforming their operating procedures. Innovation Support Organizations are essential in helping businesses overcome these obstacles. Innovation hubs, incubators, accelerators, and companies with communities of innovators are examples of ISOs. These organizations play crucial roles in the innovation ecosystem by helping people and companies develop and commercialize new ideas, goods, and services. They also provide various forms of support and resources to entrepreneurs.
However, the ISOs require assistance in establishing a range of services to support digital innovations that enable the digital transformation for non-tech MSMEs in order for them to be able to offer the necessary support to the MSMEs.
This call for applications aims to identify Innovation Support Organizations (ISOs) that are innovation hubs, venture studios, incubators and accelerators, etc. with noteworthy projects that can be implemented in Lagos, Abia, Rivers, and Kano States, as well as the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja. These ISOs will then be strengthened in their capacities to drive the digital transformation of non-tech MSMEs within their respective States/regions.
What does the GIZ DTC Nigeria project offer for selected ISOs?
• Tailored Capacity-Building Program for the selected ISOs to strengthen their digital transformation support services to MSMEs in their region
• Provision of financial support to each selected ISOs to implement their MSME digital transformation project.
For more information on the call, interested Innovation Support Organizations (ISOs) with locations in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja, Lagos, Abia, Rivers, and Kano States are encouraged to download the application guideline.
