Application is now Open to Kenyan, Rwandan Startups for the Smart Cities Innovation Program
Startups from Kenya and Rwanda are encouraged to submit applications to the Smart Cities Innovation Programme (SCIP), which aims to rapidly scale ideas influencing the future of urban living in Africa.
The SCIP is directed at digital companies working in Rwanda or Kenya with ready-to-scale solutions in smart transportation, logistics, or e-commerce. It is run by Westerwelle Startup Haus Kigali in collaboration with GIZ, Make IT in Africa, Nairobi Garage, and Ambo Venture (Kenya).
The project aims to support 20 high-potential entrepreneurs with an emphasis on smart logistics and mobility, with 10 in Kigali and 10 in Nairobi. Assessments of the readiness for expansion, capacity building, ecosystem mapping, and coaching will be helpful to the chosen companies.
They will gather market knowledge, network with partners, and ideally seal agreements throughout their 21-day exploratory tours to Kigali and Nairobi, and the program will culminate with demo days in each city.
Applications may be submitted here through October 29.
