Innovation Edge to Support South African EdTech Innovators With $80,000
This September, during World Literacy Month, Innovation Edge has released a call for startups to submit proposals for funding and strategic support to develop their edtech innovation focused toward enhancing literacy and language acquisition in young children in South African households.
Even though many parents lack the tools and resources necessary to give their kids a stimulating environment, learning starts at home.
In order to help caregivers of children aged 0 to 6 overcome this obstacle, Innovation Edge is looking for strong, committed entrepreneurs and social innovators with original or adaptable concepts. The objective is to offer useful tools and materials in a variety of languages that promote young children’s language and literacy development.

The Innovation Edge is particularly interested in concepts that use EdTech platforms to remove access obstacles for caregivers in underprivileged areas. Ideas should focus on improving the language and literacy development in children between the ages of zero and six. Mobile apps, interactive websites, interactive games, video and audio content, as well as any other cutting-edge tool that can captivate kids and improve their learning experience, can be used as solutions.
Innovation Edge aims to level the playing field for kids from underprivileged homes and put them on a path to a better future by investing in EdTech solutions that solve the early childhood education gap.
