Two new sector-specific angel investor networks are introduced by ABAN.
Two new thematic angel networks have been introduced by the Africa Business Angel Network (ABAN) with the goal of assisting companies developing solutions for the continent’s smart cities and digital trade sectors.
ABAN, which was founded in 2015, is the largest pan-African organization of angel investors. It represents more than 65 business angel organizations, totaling 1,400 investors from 35 African nations and the diaspora.
By investing in firms that provide chances to address these concerns, the Smart Cities and Digital Trade angel networks will concentrate on reducing problems encountered by African urban cities.
The Climate Smart Agriculture and Clean Technology angel networks are among the four topic networks that ABAN introduced in collaboration with AEDIB|Net last year as the final two.
Lynton Peters, an angel investor and the creator of OneCart, will lead the Digital Trade Angel Network, while Serge Ntamack, a founding board member of the Cameroon Angels Network, will lead the Smart Cities Angel Network. ABAN President Tomi Davies and ABAN Secretary General Fadilah Tchoumba endorse both measures.
“ABAN would like to thank its networks of angel investors for their efforts to improve the African startup ecosystem. Our network thanks all the mentors and angel investors who have helped boost entrepreneurs all around Africa. Because of their dedication to encouraging angel investment into African firms, our heroes have become industry leaders in digital trade and smart cities, according to Tchoumba.
