Application is now Open for the Africa Women Innovation and Entrepreneurship Forum
The annual conference and awards are now accepting registration, according to the Africa Women Innovation and Entrepreneurship Forum (AWIEF).
The AWIEF event, now in its ninth year, will take place on November 9 and 10, 2023, at the Kigali Convention Centre (KCC) in Kigali, Rwanda.
More than 1,300 entrepreneurs and startups, industry experts, thought leaders, policy makers, and change-makers from the government, corporate, and development sectors are brought together by AWIEF, Africa’s leading platform for entrepreneurship, innovation, and technology, for impactful discussions and dialogue on new ideas, initiatives, strategies, and solutions to promote innovation, entrepreneurship, digitization, intra-African trade, investing, food security, and climate action.
Irene Ochem, the president and chief executive officer of AWIEF, stated: “We are thrilled to be bringing the 9th edition of our annual conference to East Africa for the first time, especially Kigali, one of the most dynamic cities in Africa right now. We are eager to intensify our efforts to link the African and international entrepreneurial ecosystem in this important center for commerce, technology, and innovation.
Women entrepreneurs and innovators have a platform to share their work, network, and pick the brains of top businesspeople at the annual conference and awards. The conference this year, which will bring together the most talented individuals working in Africa’s entrepreneurial environment, is expected to be both educational and entertaining.
Last year’s speakers included Jackie Jones, Director of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation’s Gender Equality Division, H. E. Dr. Monique Nsanzabaganwa, Deputy Chairperson of the African Union Commission, H. E. Dr. Rania A. Al-Mashat, Egypt’s Minister of International Cooperation, Solomon Quaynor, Vice President of the African Development Bank (AfDB), Private Sector, Infrastructure & Industrialization, and Izabel (AWS). The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, AWS, Afreximbank, Sparkle, and Africa Europe Foundation were some of its supporters.
AWIEF wants to keep making progress in its efforts to link the African and international entrepreneurial ecosystem in this important center for commerce, technology, and innovation.
AWIEF 2023 will be a fully in-person event, returning to its former glory after being forced to go virtual and hybrid in 2020 due to the COVID-19 epidemic.
