Egypt’s Glamera Raises $1.3m Seed Round for MENA Expansion
Booking site for beauty services in Egypt, Glamera, has secured a US$1.3 million seed round to support the growth of its business in the MENA region.
Glamera, which was introduced in September 2019, enables users to schedule appointments with hundreds of contracted service providers in all areas of beauty, including salons, clinics, spas, gyms, and dentistry offices.
In addition to being active in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, the firm has tens of thousands of consumers and hundreds of providers in Egypt. In addition to the US$1.3 million raised in a round led by Riyadh Angels Investors, it had previously raised a six-figure seed round of funding in the US in 2020. (RAI).
Glamera will use the funding from the round, which also includes Techstars, Ithraa Venture Capital, 100 Ventures, Lucrative Ventures, and angel investors, to expand its service offerings and enter new markets in the area.
“Now that the market’s demand has been successfully verified, we can confidently work to position our fully integrated solutions at the forefront of the industry. By the end of 2023, we hope to have over 2,500 clients and generate US$500 million in gross merchandise volume, according to Mohamed Hassan, founder and CEO of Glamera.
