The flourishing start-up ecosystem in Africa needs help from many sources, according to Marieke Roestenberg, the program manager for Ventures, in order to expand rapidly and sustainably. According to her, the continent exhibits exceptional growth rates.
Africa has reportedly completed 370 transactions totaling more than $3 billion by the end of July 2022. One of the most crucial elements enabling start-ups to scale and innovate is the contribution of ecosystem enablers like Startupbootcamp AfriTech. Roestenberg continues, “Supporting enablers is also a crucial step in the development process.”
“FMO was eager to help Startupbootcamp AfriTech expand their activities into more middle-tier markets as part of our initiatives to build a more healthy entrepreneurial ecosystem. By working together, entrepreneurs have the opportunity to gain more excellent acceleration as they build businesses that will create jobs and raise the standard of living in their communities and families. She remarked
Through the Ventures program and MASSIF, FMO manages the financial inclusion fund on behalf of the Dutch government. FMO invests in inclusive business models and works with intermediaries to enhance business operations and foster a more thriving startup ecosystem.
Roestenberg asserts that the FMO’s partnership with Startupbootcamp AfriTech indicates its commitment to the growth of Africa’s ICT industry.
