Smangele Nkosi joins Cisco South Africa as its General Manager
Cisco, a multinational technology corporation headquartered in the United States, has announced the appointment of Smangele Nkosi as General Manager of its South African operations.
According to Cisco, Nkosi’s focus as general manager is on leveraging the company’s technology leadership to support the country’s innovation, prosperity, and social inclusion.
Her role will entail working closely with government agencies, as well as public and private enterprises, to create a healthy technology and partner ecosystem.
Nkosi brings a wealth of experience to the table, having worked in a variety of versatile and challenging roles in the ICT sector for over 20 years. She was most recently the acting chief commercial officer at Telkom, where she was in charge of sales and marketing, product strategy, and the development and implementation of the company’s Openserve commercial strategy.
“It’s inspiring to be part of a company that has accomplished so much in the last few years, and I’m looking forward to taking the reins in executing Cisco’s country-wide vision and strategy,” Nkosi says of her new position.
“I hope to accelerate a culture of diversity and inclusion, empower women, and develop youth in the ICT sector in order to shape a digital future for the region that opens up a world of unprecedented opportunities, including the delivery of sustainable economic growth and, as a result, an increase in job creation,” she concludes.
“Smangele has embarked on an impressive journey.” “She is a seasoned leader with proven expertise to drive Cisco’s purpose of ‘Powering an Inclusive Future for All,’ bringing transformational value to customers, partners, and society,” says Hani Raad, MD of Cisco Sub-Saharan Africa.
