7 startups graduate completes the Founder Institute Ghana programme
Seven entrepreneurs have graduated from the newest Founder Institute Ghana program, which culminated in a virtual graduation ceremony with a pitch to mentors, investors, business leaders, and former graduates from around the world.
The Founder Institute, which is based in Palo Alto, California, and was founded in 2009 by Adeo Ressi and Jonathan Greechan, connects companies with professionals who share equity in their success. Its business-building process has helped alumni raise over US$950 million to date.
Since its inception in Ghana, the program has spawned a slew of promising digital startups, including Grow-For-Me, Akoo Books, and Insurerity, and its most recent iteration was held entirely online.
Spiika, an ed-tech platform, Fantasy Gold, agri-tech service Smart Farmer, entrepreneur support platform Duapa Werkspace, logistics startup lage, toilet ownership service Wunpini Sanitech Engineers, and talent identification platform Rheyod Global were among the seven graduating businesses.
“The program is without a doubt one of the greatest filters for determining who is serious and possesses the tenacity, determination, resilience, and work ethic that all entrepreneurs must display,” said FI Ghana managing director Simon Turner.
“The training is tough for the faint of heart, but what can be accomplished in 16 weeks can save years of effort and costly blunders that would otherwise be wasted money.”
