1000 African Students Join Power Learn’s First Cohort of 1 Million Developer Program
The 1000 learners in the first cohort of Power Learn Project’s flagship program – “One Million Developers for Africa” Scholarship Program (#1MillionDevs4Africa) to teach 1 million young people and empower them with ICT employable skills – have been announced.
The cohort was chosen via a thorough screening and panel selection procedure, which was preceded by a countrywide rollout.
The One Million Developers for Africa program, run by Power Learn, is a comprehensive strategy to aiding youths by providing them with affordable world-class computer education to help them expand their tech abilities and stand out. This enables them to become more versatile and prepared for future changes.
In a statement, Mumbi Ndungu, Chief, Growth $ Operations Manager, Power Learn Project, said, “We are very delighted to bring on this great first cohort of learners into our 1 million developers for Africa Program.” “Educating one person can improve a life; educating many people can change the planet.” Learners benefit from technology because it makes information more accessible, accelerates learning, and allows them to put what they’ve learned into practice in an enjoyable way. It allows students to experiment with new technologies and gain a better understanding of complex ideas, especially in the field of technology. Students can develop 21st-century technical skills needed for future careers by using technology both inside and outside the classroom.”
“The epidemic accelerated an already-accelerating rate of digital transition, irreversibly changing old methods of doing things.” As firms moved away from physical headquarters and toward a digital HQ attitude, the demand for digital capabilities shifted as well. While this tendency has been gaining traction across many industries for decades, the current rate of acceleration is unparalleled. Now, more than ever, digital adoption and the digital skills required to embrace the shift are vital for landing more secure, in-demand tech jobs.” Ndung’u went on to say more.
This group of 1000 students will become part of an exciting community of students who will have access to life-changing experiences. Learners will have access to a large network of mentors, will be able to study from top Power Learn Project teachers from throughout the industry, will have exclusive access to teaching assistant support, and will be able to apply for internships and proof of work possibilities.
